You can finish the job by moulding another button of Blu-Tack over the bolt heads. This will make it much easier to remove the bolts in a few years’ time when you want to remove that ugly, rusty old bracket! Be careful not to over-tighten the bolts. And if the bolt goes in at an angle, pressing hard against the bracket slot, it may snap when you try to tighten it. This can also happen if the hole is not deep enough.

Ladder Safety

The Health and Safety Executive produces guidelines for industry and the use of ladders is included. Obviously, a D.I.Y. enthusiast may not want to pay out a large amount of money for items which will be used once only. Consequently, my recommendation is still that you should employ a professional who has the necessary equipment, unless you can hire the equipment and know how to use it.
